Harvesting Your Garden

arvest Your Green Beans

After approximately 6 weeks you can begin harvesting your

green beans.

A green bean is ready for picking

when it is about 3-4 inches in length.

Pick green beans gently with

your ﬁngers:

• Hold the green bean loosely in

your palm.

• Grasp the stem (slightly above the

green bean) between thumb and

pointer ﬁnger.

• Snap the stem between ﬁngers.

You can also use scissors to

harvest your green beans.

If your green bean breaks during

harvesting, take a moment to go back

and

snap the rest of it off. This will help

keep your plant productive and healthy.
